Unsurpassed Excellence in
Hunter / Jumper training & competition

"Courage. Kindness. Friendship. Character. These are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us, on occasion, to greatness."

Our Story

From a family's seven acres to a nationally renowned show barn

Entry 01
1963

William Clark Craig, a West Point graduate, purchased seven acres near Hobby Horse Farm so his daughters, Phoebe and Lucy, could ride to their lessons. He brought his own riding instructor, Colonel Robins, down from West Point — and Switch Willo Stables was born.

1965

Sixteen-year-old Glenn Johnson arrived with his backyard horse and began showing competitively in the Hunter/Jumper discipline — launching a training career that would come to define the barn for six decades.

Today

The property has grown from a five-stall barn into 21 treed acres with 50 stalls and four arenas. Glenn and Phoebe Johnson still call the original property home, and many of central Texas's top professional riders trace their first lesson back to Switch Willo.
